Board Members

Las Vegas Black Gospel Theatre is managed by a group of diverse members. The board of directors are from a variety of backgrounds including: Banking, Sales and Marketing, Education, Graphic design, Computer technology, Social services, Real estate, Law, Photography, and Financial management. The Board is under the expert guidance of two knowledgeable consultants: One is Mr. Uri L. Clinton, Esq. who lives in Tennessee with his wife and two young children; the other is Lois E. Greene of Las Vegas Nevada, who owns her own consulting business while raising her two children. The Board of Directors meets monthly to conduct the business of the organization and is currently responsible for all staff functions.

Mary-Etta Sayles Clinton

Mary-Etta is a native of Phoenix, Arizona and has resided in Las Vegas since 1948. She serves as the Founder/Playwright/Artistic Director/Executive Director/Project Director. She has written plays since 1973 and has directed since 1979. Her experience in acting, writing, and directing spans 38 years! She is a member of Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Cranford L. Crawford

Cranford is a native of Marshall, Texas and has resided in Las Vegas since 1964. He became active with the Theatre in 1990. Through the Theatre he is able to continue his lifelong commitment to young people, helping them to seek a better life through various career opportunities. Cranford serves as the Theatre’s financial secretary and house manager. He is  a retired manager with the Clark County Department of  Juvenile Services, volunteers with various fraternal and community-based organizations, travels as a hobby, and is an active member of the  United Methodist Church. Sue Dickinson

Sue is a native of Texas and has resided in Las Vegas since 1976. She became an active member of the Theatre is 1995, has served in several endeavors such as fundraisers, and is currently serving on several committees. As a retired school teacher from Clark County in Nevada, and as one who cares deeply about her family, she sees the value of theatre as a moral teaching tool. Sue is a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. Top

Don Jones

Don hails from Okmulgee, Oklahoma and has resided in Las Vegas since 1988. He became active with the Theatre in 1992. He brings to the theatre considerable expertise in computer programming, design and graphics which he has put to good use through his many advertising efforts. He is a retired U. S. Air Force Major and is married to another Board member, Lynn. Don currently serves as the Director of Visitor Services at the Las Vegas Art Museum, and is a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Top

Lynn Jones

Lynn is a native of Portland, Oregon and has resided in Las Vegas since 1953. She became active with the Theatre in 1995. Lynn has worked with children as a teacher for many years in two private, Catholic Schools in Las Vegas. Because of her love of children and the arts, she has seen the value of Theatre as both a teaching tool and as an outlet for learning. The Theatre has enjoyed her services in the area of publicity and reaching out to the public. She is married to another Board member, Don. Lynn currently assists her husband as assistant store manager at the Las Vegas Art Museum, and is a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Top

David Richardson

Dave is a native of Tyler, Texas and has resided in Las Vegas since 1963. He became an active member of the Theatre in 1990. He has served the Theatre in the past as Treasurer. His first love is designing and building, so he has used these God-given skills to design and build all of the sets for the Theatre. He is married to another Board member, Sue. After twenty-five years of dealing in the casinos of Las Vegas, he is now happily retired, spending as much time as he can, fishing. Dave attends Truth Christian Ministries International. Top

Susan Richardson

Sue hails from Newport, Rhode Island and has resided in Las Vegas since 1963. She became active with the Theatre in 1990. Serving as Secretary for the Board keeps her busy. She is married to Board member, Dave. Sue worked with elementary school children in Clark County, Nevada for 38 years and within the Children’s Ministry for thirty-plus years. During these years, theatre has always been one of the tools for learning that she utilized. Sue is now retired from working with children but not from theatre. She attends Truth Christian Ministries International. Top

Pastor Joseph G. Sayles, Sr.

Pastor Joe is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, was gone for several years and returned in 1991. That is the same year he became active in the Theatre, primarily as an actor. He is past-president of the Board. Pastor Joe also brings his computer technician skills to the Theatre. As a pastor, he definitely sees the value of theatre in teaching moral standards, and to motivate young and old to believe in/trust God in all aspects of their lives. He is married to his wife, Carrie. Besides raising five children and working with his EcoQuest Distributorship, Joe also pastors Grace Church of God in Christ.Top
